Default Drop changes and you

Ok the gold title really got me to thinking, and wow did it point out something.

My 350+hr Elementalist has ID'd ONE gold. ONE.
I'm sure there were gold armors in there that turned purple, and I didnt go crazy farming but boy there's not much I didnt do with her (ALL missions including SFs and Titans, all 2ndaries, all Ele/Mesmer unlocks/elites and many of the other 2ndaries, some farming builds/farming, some FoW & UW, etc).

My umm 10ish hour lvl 16 assassin has ID'd TWO golds.

So... for me it brought home loud and clear how abysmal drops were, as well as how badly they may be skewed against player character duration - which penalizing players for enjoying their characters doesn't sit well with me at all If you want some anti-farm OK, but I've farmed more and been more successful with my warrior and necro - with less time logged (though they're both closing in now).

It's funny but all that title really did is yeah, point out to how abused my first character feels, and she did it all by the book/did everything in order/not even run to Droks. Meanwhile my next two in Drok armor and cutting some corners here and there (later to catch them up) certainly got more love.

Which flies a bit in the face of 'play normally/through the game for best drops'. Obviously its a new world now, and I welcome real drops. I just wonder now tho if its just the new (cantha) characters on my account that will be getting the drops as my older guys dip into obscurity because, horrors, I've played them awhile Which again would be unfortunate, wasnt that the point of linking, so we could enjoy the game through the new chapter as well, which should include the same chances for drops as the fresh faces.

It's not retroactive. Guild Wars didn't start counting how many golds you have IDed until they added the title.

I have been playing Factions for a few hours every day since last friday...I cant count the number of battles going back and forth through the city...Last night I finally had my first gold drop just outside of market place. It was a total windfall and unexpected. It was not even connected to a quest. No boss either. I have had countless purple and blue drops, but this was a total shock. I had figured I would have to go deeper toward the dividing line. It is unfortunate that is was a gold drop for an "ele"...I believe that is the most crappy part of the game. I play a character like a warrior or monk and most of the drops I get are not anything I can use...mostly "ele" related items. Is it the way the drops work? I have noticed the bank roll getting bigger with all the other drops and resale at the right vendors.

The counter was just started, and doesn't count previous gold drops. Treasure title is the same way, and I believe (?) the Drunkard one is too.
